2010 has started off great, a new brother, grandparents le, john, judy, and les spent the end of 2009 with us and began 2010 with us. Well mom and dad were at Banner for the actual turning of the year, but they were with Aedyn.

Mom is going to start a family blog to replace both of our blogs, but that might take a few weeks to actually get up and running along with moving all of the info from our blog to the new site.

It has been raining all week and Aedyn has been couped up in the house and is quite restless. Hopefully we can get her out and about today for a little while even if it is just to walk around tar.get or wa.lmart.

A big sister!!!

We are offical - Aedyn will be a big sister!

We are expected a singleton January 21, 2010! Hubby and I have decided that we will not find out the gender until the birthday. However, we have choose a girl and a boy name, both of which begin with the letter E. Baby E will surprise us all!

Now for some quick updates on big sister Aedyn.

She spent the last two days with here grandma Le and boy oh boy did she have a great time! So much so when she went back to daycare today, she was concked out most of the day.
They had a great time chasing the cats, bouncing in the jumper, and crawling all over! I'll post some pictures this week.

A day of mourning

Today Aedyn's Great Grandma Mayme, passed away.

I am sorry that she never got to meet her. We will be traveling to WV monday morning to be with Grandpa Keith and Grandma Judy.

Pray for our safe travels.

This will be dad's first week without her home and mom's first trip alone with her on an airplane.
We will be home on friday.

What are we thankful for this year?

We have been asked to give our testimony as to why we are thankful this year. So I thought I would also fill you in.

We will recap last year....

After years of trying to grow our family DH and I turned to Fertility Treatments and went through IVF in April. We carried twins until Aug 24/25, 2007. At just over 20 wks, they came into the world and were with us for such a very short time. Through many months of grieving, we tried again only to find out the week of Thanksgiving last year, that we were not expecting. We scheduled to try again in December, and after quite a bit of anxiety and overwhelming grief for the Christmas Holiday, we cancelled our frozen transfer and decided that we could try on our own with the fertility meds we still had. And on December 30th, when I had all but given up on the idea of being pregnant, I took a home pregnancy test and it was a very very very light positive. I went the next day to confirm with a blood test - we were indeed pregnant.
Our year started out great and in the middle of this great year, we lost 2 beautiful boys, only to end this year on the same great note we started on. Within weeks of the new year, we found out that not only did we have 2 angels, we were expecting 2 babies again. We were overwhelmed with joy and fear.
It was Ash Wednesday - what would I give up this lenten season? God made that choice for me, one of the twins heartbeat had stopped. We would wait and watch over this pregnancy for the next 27 weeks. This was a long journey, but this year we are so thankful for the prayers, the doctors, and the gift that God gave us with Aedyn and 3 Angels to watch over her.

Okay - So it has been a while since we blogged about our days! Sorry, we have been busy :)

Halloween was as fun as halloween can be when you are 10 wks old. Aedyn was a little chili pepper which everyone thought was a strawberry :( she was cute nonetheless! We went to the church and showed her off while she slept and then came home, not much really occured.

Saturday and Sunday went by so fast - it is all a blur....Although Aedyn is an early morning baby, she is up by at least 6 or 7am and having fun on her mat looking at the lights and listening to the music.

This week has been busy with here and there and everywhere.

10 Weeks

The week has been quite around here - I am more certain now than ever that Aedyn did not and does not have colic! I stopped breast milk on Friday of last week. And she began to completely settle down with gassy episodes on Sunday. She has not had bad gas since then. She has however now learned that by screaming all night gets mom to bring her to bed and hold her all night.
Well that ended last night - with mommy letting her cry until she fell asleep. I know it sounds really cruel and mean - but I promise you it is not as bad as it sounds. It was 11:18PM when I finally put her in the crib and left her to cry and it was 11:20PM when she was out like a light! If I knew it would only take 2 minutes, I would have done this a long time ago.
She did wake up at 1am for her feeding and than again at 4am.....but when she woke up for no reason at 5am - she got her way back into my bed and slept until 730! She had her breakfast and is now sleeping in the bouncy.
She hit the 10 week mark yesterday - 10 weeks, i cannot believe it has been 10 weeks. She is growing so fast.

Today is our play date with Jake!!! We can't wait to spend the afternoon playing!

This is just so cute, she did this suckin g on the back of her hand in the womb - our 3d pictures caught her doing this all the time.

She is so tiny - weighed in yesterday at 9lbs and 3 oz, fully clothed and diapered.....so maybe 9lbs2oz is reasonable.

She was not liking the recliner by herself before chuch today.

Colic or Growth Spurt?

This week has been really long.
Lets start with Monday - i almost dont remember monday. Aedyn was quite the screamer all morning and then again all evening. there was nothing we could do to console her.

Tuesday - marked her 2 months old. We went over to see our friend Liz and watch her son Sean while she went to the dentist. Aedyn was again screaming most of the time. I was able to play with Sean and get him fed while she was out (both Aedyn and Liz) :) However, the rest of the afternoon was still this unconsolable screaming. She would have a little toot and then go right back to screaming.

Wednesday - was so bad, we stayed in the house all day and didnt get anything done. I held her all day.

Thursday - at least the morning was good, but wouldnt you know by 2PM, she was screaming again.

Friday - she seemed to be doing okay, so we headed over to visit with Lori and her little boy Jake who will be 1 month tomorrow! He is a peach and such a handsome little guy. I just want to pinch his cheeks and hug him!! Now he was sleeping most of the time we were there, barely a stir, such a good boy. Aedyn on the other hand, was still having such a rough day. She hollered most of the time we were there. By the time we got home, she had calmed down great and I finally felt like I was able to console her.

Saturday - it started all over again in the evening just after 3PM. We finally gave in and took her to urgent care - where when we left --- I felt so very Peeved. We were basically sent home with well if it is colic, she will grow out of it and you just have to deal with it. So go home and just let her cry in pain. This really really Peeved me. What use is it to take a colicky baby to the doctor if not to at least help get the gas out and relieve the pain a baby is having? Needlesstosay, I am calling our Ped tomorrow and demanding medication. I refuse to have my baby in a state of pain that can simply be managed by medication. If it was just a little gas and the My.lacon and the Little Tum.mys would have taken care of it, I would not be asking for medication. But clearly - neither of them were working, as she was still screaming her head off.

That all being said ---- her nights were perfectly serene and still are.

Now here is the big question - today, no sign of colic, no major screamming session that could not be consoled and she for 3 feedings today she consumed 4 oz each. Was this last week really colic? or just growing pains?

I am still going to get the medication, because it could very well be that since she was in the car most of the day running around with us - the gas was easily expelled. But it could also be just a fluke that we had a good day.

I am curious to see how this week progresses. She has a chiro appt in the morning, i am hoping this will maybe eleviate some of the gas pains and extreme screaming episodes.

Monday Madness

Today was not madness until gas set in.

We had a great nights sleep - Aedyn is getting about 3 oz now - she is a growing little girl!
Morning was good, got dressed, got fed and was getting ready for an outting to visit Dr Storng and Nurse Sue for a quick photo --- that is until gas set in.
Aedyn's little tummy was so gassy and she was so unhappy from about 9AM until just after 130PM - a few mins of peace and then screaming. The pictures are from her moments of peace this morning - isnt she so cute in her purple outfit. Little did I know this would be a purple crying day.
There was nothing I could do to sooth her. We finally got it out and fell asleep for a nap and when daddy got home just after 230PM - we were up again screaming in daddy's ear.
She has finally settled down after her bath and has been sleeping now for just over 2 hours.

Aedyn was such a good girl at chruch today! After church we went with Miss Carol and Zetty for a birthday lunch for Zetty at Macayos. It was quite yummy and Aedyn slept the entire lunch.

2 Month appointment

Well we did the 2 month a few days early - since Aedyn is now 8 wks old. Her 2 months will really be on the 21st :)

She was such a good little girl!!!

She has grown 3 inches since her 2 wk appt - she is now a whopping 22 inches tall!!! the 50th percentile ----she is a tall girl that is for sure.

She has also gained 1 lb 15 oz since her 2 wk appt - she is now 8lbs 13oz - 10th percentile for weight.

The peditrician says all is good with her growth. She is gaining weight appropriately and shooting up like a rocket!

She also got some shots today - they were supposed to give her 3 and one oral, but they did not have one available, so she got one shot in each thigh and the oral and we'll have to come in when they call us for that 3rd shot. Which really sux! Because we have to put her through this again just for one shot. Well Mommy couldn't even be in the room.....I left daddy in there with her, it was going to break my heart to see them give her those shots and scream to high heaven. So I stayed in the lobby and just heard her scream to high heaven.

But after all was said and done, she did great. She was such a good girl, mommy and Aedyn went grocery shopping and made it all the way home before she stirred (she was hungry).

Our Tuesday Outtings

Today was filled with two outtings - the first was a new mothers group that deal with breastfeeding - the La Lache Group. We were off very quickly this morning as Aedyn and mommy slept in until 830. After having a pretty long night with trying to get her to sleep more than a 2 hour streatch at a time. I think it is growth spurt time!

Then we were off to have lunch with mommy's friends Margie and Bobbi - that was fun! Sometimes it is a while before we can all get together, so when we can meet up, we always have a great time catching up.

The it was back home, where we spent the day - pulling tags off the clothing gifts we have been getting for the last month and trying to gather all the premie and newborn clothes that dont fit.

Tomorrow is not as an exciting day - nothing is really planned. That is a good thing for us, since Thursday is Aedyn's 2 month appt. On the plus side, we get to find out how much she has grown over the last 6 wks. On the icky side, she is probably going to come home really upset as she is supposed to get her shots this day. I am still really up in the air about them, but she has to be vaccinated in order for her to be involved in any activities that the base has for babies/toddlers. So.....we are going to do the shots.

Our Weekend

So we will start off with Friday - it was busy day for us all. Aedyn and I went all the way into town to send money to Vietnam and the Vietnamese bank was closed......well then back to our side of the world. Stopped by the BX and bought some more little tummy's for her and had some lunch.

Not too much else for our afternoon - daddy came home and we spent the evening hanging out around the house.

Saturday was quite a boring day all in all. We stopped by Tar.get and Babies R.Us to use our really good coupons before they expired for Aedyn's diapers/wipes and formula. We save quite a bit of money and are quite stocked up on all for the time being. I like to keep an eye out for sales and money saving to streatch our buck and not be left with having to pay full price for anything I can get for a bargain :)

Today - we were running a little late for church, as Aedyn decided at 3AM that she didnt want to sleep in her room, so I wisked her off into bed with me and she finally fell asleep and it was just after 6AM when she woke up ate and crashed again until 930 - thus the reason we were running late.

She has taken quite a liking to her swing and we have found that there are times when she just doesnt want to be held! She will either want to be in her swing or just laying down. We are figuring it out one by one.

7 weeks

So Aedyn was wide awake when the 7 wk mark hit - 12:15 this morning.

She has had a long week thus far. The days however are all beginning to run together. She had a few rough spots a couple of late nights - with fussiness. But all in all she is doing great.

She tends to stay awake for a lot longer first thing in the morning through the afternoon.

No big adventures, last night we took her to the new Super Target - and she got pretty fussy, so we cut the trip short and came home, gave her a bath, and then she settled down for the night.

It was a short night, with feedings every 2 hours, until she finally finished a whole 2 oz at 5AM and then slept with me until 8:30, that was nice!

She played a little bit this morning.....

Sunday Sunday

So last night was not so bad once we got her calmed down, she fell asleep in the boppy and we finally moved her into her little bed within mommy and daddy's bed. She slept quite sound for a good part of the night. Her nights once asleep are pretty good, she gets her diaper changed and eats and falls asleep quickly.

We got up for church and she was not too hot about going to chuch but once we were there she was great, not fussy at all. We even got a quick trip for a few more groceries. She is really starting to enjoy being in her swing(s). I have found her falling asleep one too many times in the swing, but if it makes her happy - who am I to complain. I will just need to find something to stabalize her little bobbing head from slouching over.

So I got a semi smile out of here just a few minutes ago after taking her out of the swing and putting her in the living room travel crib.

Well we left off with Wednesday - just before Aedyn hit the 6 wk mark.

Thursday was a nice day, Aedyn and mommy went to visit Ms Barbara and had a lovely lunch and chat. Aedyn was asleep most of the time and was such a good little girl.

She had a pretty nice evening - with a bath. Then came a rough night at bed time, Aedyn was so not going to go to sleep easily. Not sure if her tummy was upset or what, but we tried everything to sooth her and nothing worked. It was well after midnight when she fell asleep. I woke up to her stirring about 455am - I was so freaked out it had been well over 4 1/2 hours since she ate! I got her fed, and we laid down in bed together for a few hours and then got up for mommy's doctor appointment.

It seems that after all those hours of pushing, i pulled some ligaments in the very lower area of the back - I have been having trouble sitting and getting up from a sitting position for weeks now. Chiropractic visits were not helping this area at all.....and now I will be heading off to physical therapy to work those ligaments back into a workable condition and hopefully the pain of sitting and getting up will disappear soon.

After the visit - we headed over to visit our friend Lori and her new born son Jake - oh is he the most handsome little guy! Aedyn got her first kiss from Jake too :) He was born a week ago today at a whopping 8lbs 10oz! I think he gave Aedyn a little lesson in eating a bit more, for the first time ever she ate just over 3oz!!! Oh yes, Jake can eat 3-4 oz per feeding already.

Last night daddy took feeding duty all night - he is a great husband and a great dad! I did wake up with every stir she had, but it was nice to get some really good sleep. She ate very well last night too! I hope she is having a growth spurt. She is getting quite long and skinny. I know she is gain weight and doing well.

Today was a pretty somber morning and afternoon. We did go to target and babies r us today - all shopping for Aedyn, diapers and formula and returning some unnecessary items. However since we have gotten home, she has been in quite a tyrate with the crying and screaming. She has a clean diaper and a full tummy - so we are not sure what is going on, maybe just fussiness and overly tired.

So I am off to spend the rest of the evening with daddy and Aedyn - hopefully she will settle down and sleep well tonight.

A new month already - tomorrow Aedyn will be 6 wks old - I can hardly believe it! 6WEEKS!!!

She has grown so much, I just dont know how much yet, 2 weeks and we'll have the 2 month appointment.

She is finally starting to eat a little more but at the same time a little less.

She sips here and there all day long but in the evening she prefers to eat her entire 2 oz, we have given her a little bit more 15 mL or so once or twice. I am hoping that she begins to eat more regularly with greater quantity - after all she is a growing girl.

Last night, she was a little upset - so I stayed up with her until she fell asleep, then it was about 1 hour before her next feeding so I really really tried to stay awake....but that was a no go. And thank goodness, since she didnt get up until an hour and a half later.
Unfortunately, she woke up every 2 hours last night because she was hungry again!
By 530 this morning, when daddy was getting up to get ready for work, i fed her and layed her on my chest and we went back to sleep until 830! It was great and good sleep.

She has had a pretty good day today - we went to visit our great friend Angellicia and her mom. Tomorrow will be visiting with Barbara - mommy's friend from the base. And on Friday, we get to finally meet Jake (Jacob) - Lori's new born son! Our week is so full of friends.

The weekend is planned to be spent with daddy and mommy - chilling with little Aedyn around the house and church on Sunday.

Next week is just as busy for mommy and Aedyn - i dont think it will ever slow down with her.

Upset Tummies

Oh my little one had an upset tummy most of the night, now that she is asleep, I stay awake waiting for her next feeding.....which should be very soon. Then I will go off to sleep for at least 2 hours.

Tomorrow is a sports and family day for the airmen at Luke....so after I have my dentist clean my teeth, Aedyn and I will go join daddy at the Park on the base and spend the afternoon ..... or at least an hour or two and have some lunch.

Then it will be off to the commissary for groceries and home to cook dinner.

She has quite the day planned for her - lots of adventure and errands to run.

Aedyn is getting so long and lengthy, but she is still not eating much more than 2 oz per feeding. Her 2 month appointment will be on Oct 16th - it seems so far off to see how much she has gained and how much taller she is. Although, if she doesnt start to eat a little more in the next week, we might have to see the peditrician a little sooner than we planned to make sure everything is indeed okay.

Night night all.....I am off to wake her up to feed her, it has been far too long since she ate last.

Our first day with Daddy at work

Today was our first day with Daddy at work.........it was a long day to say the least.

It all started with mommy letting daddy try to sleep throughout the night. Mommy was a trooper though, getting up all by herself to do the feedings and diaper changes.....not bad, except Aedyn wanted to stay up and play for an hour after she ate! So we feel asleep in the recliner in the living room the first time, then feel asleep in the glider in her room the second time.
Well at the 530 feeding, mommy decided this is enough......we went back to mommy's bed to go to sleep since daddy was getting up at 600 anyway.
And WOW we slept until 900! It was great - Aedyn got fed and cried the entire time mommy was taking a shower. She spent most of the day awake......but didnt really start the hollering until about 330 and by 445 she had finally pooped after 2 days. It was not the soft purred pea's I was expecting, infact it was a lot thicker and an off dark mustard color. So we are on the lookout for signs of constipation.

She is doing great now.....that she is hanging out with her daddy.

On another note --- AF (Aunt Flo - for those who are not hip to infertility acryonyms) has shown up.........and I ask - Are you kidding me??? 5wks 4days ---- I thought that breastfeeding was supposed to make her unpredictable! Not even one sign that she was coming, I woke up and here she was!!!

We are still waiting for the Dom.peridone to see if it will help with the lactation.

Aedyn and mommy are going to go see our newest buddy Jacob on Friday, he was born on Saturday 8lbs 10oz at 4PM. We can hardly wait to meet this little guy, as he was also quite the miracle.

Dedication to God

Today was Aedyn's dedication to God. We choose this to allow her to learn and choose when she is ready for baptisim in the future years.

Time Flys by so quickly

Time is flying by!

I will start where we left off, humpday.

She was a good little girl all day until her tummy was upset most of the night and finally just after 11pm, she was out like a light!

Thursday was a quite day with very little activity or uproars around the house. No big adventures for the little one, however, 3 very lovely diapers :) need i say more?

Friday was a fun filled day from early in the morning - Aedyn finally got to meet Dr Strong and Nurse Sue! But mommy forgot the camera - so we are scheduled for another visit on Oct 20, when they are both in the office again for pictures, this would mark her 2 month birthday :)
We also headed to the base so daddy's boss could meet the little one, yes the friday before he goes back to work!

In addition, I have this new prescription for domperidone the alternative to reg.lan for breastmilk production and wouldn't you know it is a specialty drug that can only be filled in a few select places and is not covered by insurance.................so i ordered it from New Zeland! Yes NZ.
Lets hope this helps - it is my last ditch effort.

On a side note, mommy will be staying home with Aedyn!!!!! Yes - this is a wonderful thing and we are looking forward to being home with her for all of her firsts.

Nice Big Presents

So our little one is having some fussiness at the same time each night, just before she goes to sleep for the majority of the night. We can't complain, this is really the only major crying time.

Well last night was a little longer than normal and when we finally got her to sleep.....i did one last check on her before I fell asleep and her room had an awful smell ---- well we got a nice big present in her diaper and she was just as happy as a clam - she didnt even cry. luckily she was not in that poopy diaper for more than 5 mins.

I really wanted to grab the camera and take a picture but daddy did not approve......just wanted it cleaned up and tossed out as quickly as possible.

I kid you not, this looked just like pureed pea's!

She slept 4 full hours after that - it was nice sleep for us.

Today marks Chiropractic Adjustment #3 - she felt this one - as she let out a whale of a cry and within a minute she was conent and ready to eat!

She is still only eating about 1.5 -2 oz per feeding - which i am starting to get a little concerned with, but she is still putting on weight, so I will wait and see if this increases as the wks continue.

She is getting to be very lengthy and filling out so nicely. She is not as little as she was when we brought her home.

Sunday Fun

Well we didnt do very well last night with the upset tummy category. Aedyn was up past midnight with a very upset tummy. She finally calmed down after several hours of crying and passing gas. We were both so tired and mommy had such a head ache from earlier, we ended up putting her on mommy's chest to let her calm down and fall asleep. She finally got into a good deep sleep and we moved her into her crib just about 1AM. She did great with getting up at 330ish to eat and then she was right back out and we didnt hear a peep from her until 630. I then brought her to our bed to relax a little longer until 7ish for breakfast. She was again out like a light after breakfast.

mommy and daddy were still so tired, she slept with us until just before 10AM.....so our first day at chuch was a bust and will be next sunday when we do her dedication. That is okay, today's service was going to be in the park and it was a little toasty outside yet.

We did however, take a trip over to a friends house for Maddox's 4th birthday party. Again, Aedyn was a perfect sleepy girl the entire time we were there.

When we got home, it was bath time again! She was not very happy but she did get nice and clean. No pee or poo adventures to speak of yet. Dinner was easy and fast, she ate the entire 2 oz and off to lala land again.

I pray that she doesnt get to much of an upset tummy tonight and that she can rest peacefully.

One more week until Daddy has to go back to work. I am a little worried about having her to myself all day with no help. I am sure the anxiety will pass and everything will be fine, but I really depend on him. But I have a lot of wonderful friends to call if I need answers to any questions.

Chiropractic Adjustment #2

Friday's chiro adjustment went very well......she tooted so everyone knew she was good with it. It was so cute.

She was a little fussy last night, but just really wanted to be held. She had quite the exciting day. From the adjustment to the running around the base. We did a walk through tour in the Child Development Center (the daycare) we are on the waiting list for. Hopefully we get our slot just before mommy has to go back to work. It is a very impressive day care facility. Then we stopped by the hospital to drop off mom's refill request and the over to the BX for a CD player for Aedyn's room. The rest of the day was spent at home for some relaxation. That is were the little fussy kicked in. It didn't last long at all, maybe about an hour and once she was out, she was out!
She is a wonderful little sleeper each night, with 2 - 3 feedings. We are indeed very blessed to be able to have this little girl and get some sleep in between.

The breast milk is not increase in supply and at this point neither is the demand. She is now over 4 wks and still only having 1.5 - 2 oz per feeding every 3ish hours. She is filling out though, so I am not quite worried yet.

Today was a nice busy day also. We all slept in until almost 7 :) But then we were off and going, hanging out around the house most of the day. We stopped by some friends house that was having a birthday party for their 3 year old and their 1 year old twins. It was good fun and Aedyn was a sleeping beauty the whole time. We are home now and she is at her fussy time. So we pray for a good nights sleep again.

4 Weeks Old Today!

Today I am exactly 4 wks old!

Well lets start with where we left off the other day....

Monday I only really posted some pictures.

So on Monday - we really did not do very much at all, just some wonderful bonding time with Aedyn. This was the first night we decided to end the "swaddling." It was a very difficult evening getting her to sleep with out waking up ever time she felt her own face or pulled her own hair with those tiny hands. We all had a rough time that night, but finally she was asleep and all in the world was okay.
We did end up going to Bab.ies R.Us to purchase a new car seat. The one we have is not very nice to her little legs - they keep leaving deep indentations on her inner thighs and every time she was put in it, she would scream almost the entire time she was in it. She loves the new one! Not a peep when she gets in - unless she is already fussy.

Tuesday - no more swaddle day 1 - went well. Aedyn had her first Chiropractic adjustment.....let me give some back ground, before everyone freaks out about why an infant is getting adjusted.

Aedyn's birth as you all know was quite traumatic - with the pushing for 2 hours and the extra pushing that occured for 2 more hours and then the pushing back through the birth canal and the pulling out of the uterus, we felt that she might have a few little sublaxations with her very tiny and fragile spine. Not to mention she had become quite fussy and was having a very hard time with passing gas. Almost after every feeding she would cry and scream for an hour and when she could get that tiny gas bubble to toot, she could finally fall asleep.

Well she got her adjustment and for the 1/2 that followed, we breast fed her for 30 mins, and after ever suck she would toot! It was an amazing smelly 1/2. But she wasnt fussy at all after her feeding, she was not satisfied, so we gave her some formula afterwards and again no fussiness......we were so pleased and so happy that she was feeling good............

We thought to adventure to the commissary for groceries! Woo Hoo - adventure was successful, a happy baby the entire time. We were even able to exchange an item on the way home from Bab.ies R.Us.

Subsequently we also decided to try the Sim.alac Soy formula to supplement starting that night. And wow was that wonderful, the formula stinks but she was still not fussy. So we are thing this combination of the adjustment and the formula exchange has done the trick thus far.

Wednesday - Aedyn went over to visit with Sean Michael, mommy's friend Liz's son. Well, okay, mommy went to visit with Liz. Aedyn was such a great little girl, she never even got fussy!
Even after this 6 hour outting, when we got home she wasnt even fussy.

This was to mark the first official day she spent the night in her own bed. It really broke mommy's heart, but since daddy goes back to work in about a week, it had to happen. She did wonderfully!!! She woke up 2 times in the night for a diaper change and her feeding - a good 30 mins on the breast and then 2 oz of soy formula and she was out for the count again.

Thursday ---- Her 4 wk birthday :)
Not much really in the morning, we got to a slow start. Finally got out of the house just afternoon and ran to the store, stopped by mommy's office and then off to the herbal store in Tem.pe for a new supplement to help bring in mommy's breast milk. (it tastes awful) but hopefully it will help to bring in more milk. Aedyn was doing such a great job with our outting, we pushed our luck and had dinner out.....she slept through the whole thing! As soon as we got home - it was time for a diaper change again and her feeding. she has been such a great little girl with outtings in her new car seat!

Well she ended her day with a great wonderful present in her diaper!!! before her nighty nighty. It was a perfect way to end a great day.

She has another adjustment in the morning. Lets hope she does just as great as the other day and this reign of no fussiness continues!

We'll be stopping by also tomorrow to pick up the pictures - and over the weekend will scan them in, post some that have not been posted, and put the announcements in the mail....yes a whole month after she was born (they are late and mommy is not happy but that is life).

Our weekend is packed with fun things to do! A Birthday Fiesta on Saturday and a Birthday Swim party on Sunday.

Aedyn will also have her Dedication at chuch on the 28th of Sept - Chaplain Kittle will perform this during the Sunday Service.
Ch. Kittle also did Andrew's dedication in the hospital last year before he passed away. He also did a special dedication for Ethan, although he had already become an Angel.

Well that concludes the last 4 days. She is still swaddle free, tooting up a storm, and giving us lots of smiles.

Inaugural Bath

Aedyn finally had a real bath! In her own baby bath tub.......mommy wasnt sure how to give a baby this small a bath, so we asked Dar, our wounderful neighbor to come and show us.

She did very well, just a few yelps and fussiness. No pee or poo in the bath tub! And the diaper got on without incident during the drying.

Gas

Well it seems that breastfeeding is not as easy for me as one would think. Although women all over the world do a great job with this task, I on the other hand have an issue with producing enough milk.

So Friday I started taking Reg.lan to help with the increase of milk. Well after 2 whole days, I was overwhelmed with feeling out of my skin - really. Not to mention the increased feeling of depression and anxiety.
so, no more for me.

oh yes it also gave me incredible gas ---- and little doodlebug has been tootin away and has had horrible gas pains........so again no more meds.

we will live with the milk supply that the Good Lord gave me.

Yes, today was supposed to be the day I made my grand apperance, as you all know I was a bit impatient and came 16 days early!

I have had quite the exciting day - our friend Jenn A and Kenzie came over to visit me and brought me all kinds of fun stuff to play with! Thank you Jenn and Kenzie....and Ranie and Zane for sharing all your toys!

Grandma Le and Papa John are here now too!

I was quite warn out with all the excitement around the house and decided that I wanted to stay up but alas fell asleep on my mommy for about an hour, and when she moved me, I decided it was time to wake up again.

I will probably sleep very well tonight!

Aedyn's First Homecoming Present.

Aedyn's first homecoming present was from her cyber auntie Josee.

Yes it took me a few days to get this posted, we wanted the mini roses to bloom before taking the picture. We decided to plant it in the back yard so we could see them grow and bloom just like our little Doodlebug. The have bloomed beautifully in the few days they have been planted.

Thank you Josee for Aedyn's mini-roses! They are beautiful ~ we expect they will continue to grow and bloom nicely every year.

Oh and yes, you know we have to post a few more pictures of our little Doodlebug - she in growing so quickly!

2 Weeks Old Today!!!

Today Aedyn is 2 weeks old :)

Her appointment went well - she is now 19 inches and 6 lbs and 14 ounces! Woo Hoo, she is growing like a weed.

She was such a good girl today - they did the 2nd PKU test today and had to prick her heal twice! This did not make me very happy.

She took her first grocery store adventure and was a perfectly sleeping little girl until her diaper was wet, thank goodness we were all done and checked out and headed back to the car.

I have found that the front seat is a great place to change her diaper - she had a little poopy one this morning before we got to her well baby check up so when we were getting gas, I got the first one changed. Then after the grocery store adventure we got the wet diaper changed.

I think she is beginning to like the car seat and the car rides. We are learning that as long as we put a fresh diaper on before the ride, she is a happy little girl.....and that makes for a happy mommy and daddy.

My First Explosive Diaper

Yes, you heard it here first! Last night was the first explosive diaper - it was awful! My poor little Aedyn was so unhappy - it was everywhere, up the back, in the car seat, all over the clothes, and even all over her little arms and legs.

A monumental moment, I would love to never see again.

On to another subject:

Grandma and Grandpa H are on their way home now. We loved having them here to see their son's first child come into the world and we loved the help they provided us while they were here. They will be missed, but we'll see them again soon. It is hard with them living over 1500 miles away to have frequent visits, so we make our visits as long as we can and really enjoy every minute we can.

Gma and Gpa H took some picutres also of Aedyn, we thought we'd share those also - they are so precious!

Grandma Le will be here on Saturday to see her first grand daughter. I would say grand child, however, Ethan and Andrew were her first grand children. She was able to be here for Andrew's birth, as Ethan came too quickly for anyone to be with me. They are so missed.

Okay so our little girl is crying away right now, so more to come tomorrow after her 2 wk check up.

Almost One Week Old

Wow - I just realized that I post our birth story just the day after the c-section, time flys. I would have posted more, but we had the in-laws take the computer home so that we could focus all of our attention on her and rest. We both knew that if the computer was there, we would want to check email and stuff.....so off it went back to the house.

We have been home since Monday evening, about 5:00pm. I have found very little time to get on the computer, so I am taking this evening to hop on and do a quick update on her progress.

Yesterday we went to her baby peds appt - it was supposed to be done at day 3, however, since we were still at the hospital, we couldnt make that happen. Yesterday was good enough - day 5 :)

She weighed 6lbs 5oz, so she lost a whopping 3 oz! My girl can eat that is for sure.

She was at the 18 and 3/4 inches - she grew almost an entire inch in 5 days!

I am still recoving from the c-section - it is harder than i thought to be so dependant on DH to help me with even the simplest things, like bending down to dry my legs after a shower. WOW!

I have to say I have the best husband a woman could ever ask for.

Well I am back to bed for sleep, as Aedyn will probably be up in about an hour and a half for her feeding.

Aedyn's Birth Story

Okay here it is, i know you are all anxious to know what went down and why it has taken me so long to post.

We start with amnio day Aug 19th.
got to the clinic for the amnio, it was a no go, it seems her fluid had decreased by more than half in 4 days. my MFM sent us straight to the hospital to begin the induction.
we got there at 1:30 in the afternoon, induction began at 330 with Cervidal for 12 hours.
At 330am Aug 20, i was now dialated 2 cm, i got one hour off of meds and monitors.
At 430am Aug 20, we began the pitocin drip.
at 1130am Aug 20, my water broke on its own!! Yeah and right when the MFM came in to check our progress.
by this time, i was talked into an epidural - as they were quite sure the induction and contractions would be at least two days.
at 6pm, we were 6cm dialated.
by 8pm, we were ready to push and were fully dialated.
by 10pm, we figure out that she was stuck in the birth canal and was not budging another mm!
someone else was already in the OR, so we had to wait......
we then found out that the epidural fell out between 8pm and 10pm......no wonder i thought i was going to die!!!
they couldnt put it back in because my anastesiologist (sp) was in the OR.....so i begged for some dilauted and they obliged me because this drug doesnt last long.
at 1157 i entered the OR and again was in full blown labor.
instead of an epi i was given a spinal --- while laying on my side, because i could not sit up. they did a great job, because i have had no back issues at all.
she was offically out at 1215......

DH came in just as they were trying to get her out.....he walked in on the MFM standing on over me straddled from above while the nurse was pushing Aedyn's head back out of the birth canal and the MFM was trying to pull her out with the least amount of strain. Again I was completely out!!!

I didnt even know she was out until i tried to open my eyes to see DH and heard this very very loud yell! she has defintely got a great pair of lungs on her.

Well she is finally here!!!

She has spent her first days in the nicu due to very low blood sugar, but we expected this due to my diabetes - she is doing well and hope to have her back with me by Saturday. DH spends all night with her and we spend as much time as we can without over stimulating her during the day.

She is 6lbs, 8oz, 18 inches long and has a head full of hair.

Okay - my birthday is supposed to be in 3 days! i will be 37w4d gestation - a little early, but well worth the wait!

Mommy and Daddy have some things they still need to get done.
Grandma and Grandpa Harms will be here tomorrow from Iowa!

These next 3 days will go by quickly but they will seem to drag, that is for sure.

I will try to stay put until wednesday :)

6 Random Things About Me(Mom):

1) Although, I am an accountant, I do have a creative side. I used to write poems and actually have quite a few published. I have often thought of putting together an entire book to see if it could be published. As much as I would love to spend the time to gather them all up, type them all up, and send them all off......I am not really sure people would want to read my crazy ramblings in poetic form.

2) Make-up is a special occasion. I do not wear make-up on a daily basis, infact, I probably wear make-up twice a year, at my Christmas Party and DH's Christmas Party. I think I have actually put it on for our family photo. Last year, our Christmas Party was on the same day, so I got out of wearing it twice.

3) I love to cook. In fact, I love to cook in very large quantities! We had one summer where Dh's family and us meet up in MO and I insisted I cook :) well there was 9 of us, and everyone ate breakfast, lunch and dinner together the 5 full days we were there. It was so much fun, we tried to get together again this summer in CO, but that fell through, with the prices of gas and a "high" risk pregnancy, we decided to try again another year.

4) I have owned 14 vehicles in 20 years of driving. My first owned car was a Mit.subishi Starion.....I was driving home one night and all the sudden we started to coast, there was plenty of gas. We pulled the car over and opened the hood and the engine was glowing a cherry red color. That was she wrote on that car.

5) I love to sing, in the car, in the shower, in the praise team at chuch. I love to sing. However, right now, I can barely breath and my pitch is well......lets just say MIA. It all stated in Junior high, when I had to leave my saxaphone behind because my braces were cutting my cheeks and lips. So I moved over to Choir. Maybe one day, I will post a recording of me singing Aedyn a lullaby.

6) I am not the typical persona of an accountant - I have 4 tatoos on my right leg, one on my left leg and one on my left breast. I have my right ear pierced at the very top and two times in the lobe, my left ear well just once. I have my right eyebrow pierced as well. Although I do not wear piercings anymore, they are all still there and all still open.

6 Pounds!

Okay here it is! Mom was way off - my estimated weight is 6 Lbs on the nose, the circumference of my head is 31cm.....which is 5.5 inches in diameter....which is 1.5 inches larger than 10cm's dialted :) I am 36w3d today and measure 35w5d -- so we are still on track.

Not much else for news! I am just waiting around in here to meet everyone next week.

I have not quite decided weather I will pick my birthday or allow 20th to be my birthday :) I'll make it a surprise.

9 Days to go

ohh......mom and dad had quite the scare last night - with 10 days to go, mommy was having quite a number of contractions!!! within 2 hours they were down to 5 mins apart :) I considered breaking out and screaming to the world "I am here!"
Well that didn't happen - she took the 17P shot and headed off to the hospital as instructed by the on-call nurse.
The hospital was more concerned about mommy's very very swollen feet and legs than they were about anything else. The hooked her up withe contraction monitor and the fetal heart monitor, made her pee, and give blood. Everything came back okay - and since the contractions had started to subside because of the shot, they sent us home! They didn't even check to see if mommy was dialeted or anything.
Today has been full of contractions - they are pretty far apart, but I am having a great time in here getting squeezed! so of course I have to kick and let her know ...... that hello.......it really isnt that fun in here!

Well, tomorrow is my final growth scan, I am really curious about how much I already weigh.....
I am thinking maybe just over 5 lbs :) I will let you know as soon as I can.

Grandma and Grandpa Harms will be here next monday!!!!
And just as they head back home, Grandma Le will be here.

the house is going to be full that is for sure..............and all for little ole me :)

10 Days to go and counting

Well this weekend has been very fun and active.

Mommy and Daddy never did take me to the Braves vs Diamondbacks game on Friday.....by the time they were done with the Bundles for babies class and the appt, mom was wiped out. After all I did keep her up from 2 to 5 in the morning :) mostly kicking.

She and I took a really nice 3 hour nap and then i again started with the kicking and thought it would be fun to kick between contractions....nothing steady though.

Saturday mom and dad had some lunch (hotwings)....i like spicy food. And then packed up Christmas presents for the family. With me on the way, they wont have much time to get this done. Mom decided to sit on the bean bag to wrap them all, and when she was done, I made it quite difficult for her to get up from the floor.....if you could have seen it, you would be laughing so hard you'd pee your pants.

The rest of the night was quite, more kicking.......I really want out of here, it is getting a little cramped! But I still have 10 days to go.

Mom gets her last hydroxyprogesterone caporate (P17) shot tonight, and the contractions will slow down again for a few days ---- oh well, i guess we can't all have our way.

I get my final growth scan on Tuesday......so we will have a pretty good idea about how big I have gotten and how much I weigh. I will let you know then.

Oh yeah......one of mom's friends from work ordered me a personalized blankie and we found a really cool picture of it on ebay today....it has my name on it!!! Isn't it cool.........Thanks Andrea J....it goes perfectly in my Snoopy Diaper bag from Josee M....... both of which are coming with us to the hospital next week.

From our wonderful friend MamaSoon! my diaper bag is full of stuff already and is going to the hospital with mommy and daddy!!! I hope they packed everything I will need for my short stay there.
From friends and co-workers! there was a lot more clothes, but daddy already put them in the wash!

this is my crib and my giraffe that mom won at an auction.....i think it might be a little too big to be hanging out with me in bed for a few years.

mom and day really like the snoopy theme so they put up little stars and wall stickers all around.

even snoopy is dancing over my closet doors.....if you could only see all the clothes I have in there already. I think I have more than mom and dad combined!

Thank you all my friends and family!!!! For the wonderful gifts!

I wish that we could give a detailed list, but it is just too long....

I got boppy's, cart covers, a cool frog pod, a baby einsteins play mat, a exersaucer bouncer, home made quilt and croched blankies, even some home made sleepers. I also got a couple of car sun shade to protect me in this AZ heat, and the list goes on!

Mom and dad used the gift cards to buy a pack-n-play, a baby gate, a monitor with movement sensor, a front/back carrier, a bath tub stool, a diaper rack, and some other small items.

So far, I think they are ready for me to come.

The Countdown - 17 days to go

17 days to go until I should be arriving. I am sure mommy will not update my blog everyday - my life isnt that exciting yet!

Yesterday moms friends gave me a shower - I got lots of gifts from wonderful people! She has promised to post pictures tomorrow of the gifts and the cake. Since it is not very nice to post picture of friends without them knowing.....she will crop everyone out - as to ensure no one gets upset.

Time has seemed to slow down a little today.

I wanted to bust out when she kept walking around the commissary, but instead i pushed really hard on her bladder and made her pee. I dont think mom was very happy having to run to the potty :)

And the line was so long, that I convienced the uterus to practice with me for the day I break out of here. Mommy had a great time breathing, hee hee hooo, hee hee hooo.....i fell asleep as soon as she sat down in the car, I think she did too.

Thank you to all the friends and family that brought me presents! I cant wait to use them all!!!

Oh yeah, one more thing - I can't wait to meet everyone!

My arrival is soon!

This post is being written by my mom.
Many of my posts will be written by mom or dad.

Today is August 2nd and my anticipated birthday is August 20th.

My mom and dad are quite excited and counting down the days until I am here.

I already have some wonderful friends and family who are looking forward to meeting me. They have given me presents, all of which are wonderful and will be very useful as I grow.

My grandparents will be here with mom and dad for the first few weeks.

The next 18 days are going to be very busy for mom and dad. They still need to pick a few items up and make sure all the hospital bags are ready to go, as well as get the house ready for lots of company.

I am growing everyday and of course I get a few good kicks in everyday to remind mom that I will be here soon. Plus, she is running out of room in here for me!

I can't wait to meet you all.
